All I want for Christmas Is...

Over lunch recently a woman asked my hubby what he was planning to buy me for Christmas.  With his face twisted in pain he said "no idea; she's too fussy" to which she replied "just buy her a classic handbag.  Here, this one is perfect" and pointed to the Hermes in Vogue. Silently I winced.
Unfortunately for me 1. my hubby has no idea what Hermes is and 2. even if he did, (and could afford it) he would certainly not pay $12,000 for a handbag.
So what can you buy someone who is incredibly fussy, like myself?

Here are the accountant's picks that won't break the bank...
  • A lasting investment - a parcel of shares from as little as $500.  There are many good buys at the moment.  Contact your share broker or email me to speak to our financial planner
  • Books - a fantastic and accurate read about the Global Financial Crisis All The Devils Are Here
and some non financial orientated presents...
  • Coffee Table Books - if you didn't pick this up last Christmas, check out Louis Vuitton.  A couple of other goodies are Chanel or Glamorous Rooms.  If you have a gardening enthusiast and they haven't already got one, buy a Paul Bangay
  • Think someone in your life needs a more positive perspective for 2011?  Checkout The Ultimate Happiness Prescription - a truly awesome read
  • PJs and underwear sets and packaging are even more gorgeous this year at Peter Alexander.  Also checkout his watches at $69.90 - they are super cute and super cheap (note life expectancy 12 mths).
  • On a white movement in your house or beach house?  Checkout Whiteport for some beautiful white accessories.
  • I don't endorse giving any wife/girlfriend/mother or sister an appliance at Christmas but Peters of Kensington have some great bargains on all sorts of home, kitchen and dining wares like these funky yet practical steak knives,
  • DVDs are so yesterday with the likes of Media Streamers, however, either by DVD or download, if you haven't already seen the hilarious French movie Priceless it is sure to be a hit
  • Beach Bags.  Checkout the selection at ShopBop; and lastly
  • For those conscious of your carbon footprint,  get your special someone's feet into Melissa
